August 4, 2016
Attention all 2016 Youth Tackle Football Participants:
Please be advised in the event that you are not aware, the Skokie Park District will now be running and coordinating a Youth Tackle Football in our surrounding communities for players in District 219 as well as any non-District players interested in playing. The local feeder programs as mentioned in the letter form District 219 will no longer be running the league due regulations and guidelines presented by the IHSA.
The Skokie Park District takes great pride in providing effective, productive and quality programs year round and we look forward and welcome this transition with this program and want to welcome all potential players and parents to the program. This will be a combined joint program affiliated with players that will either attend Niles North or Niles West or potentially other local High Schools to play in an organized public program. Teams will be formed based on numbers and weight classifications, and will participate once again in the Central Suburban Youth Football League. We welcome all surrounding communities Morton Grove, Lincolnwood and Niles as well to the program as we will grant and accept resident fees for participation.
Registration and all information on this program will now be connected to the Skokie Park District. Please see attached Registration form for all information on where and how to register for this program. Please review all weight classes identified and select the one that fits your grade and or weight class. We will also have this information posted on our website, www.skokieparks.org and can access the link to register at following: https://www.skokieparks.org/downloads/pdfs/TackleFootball16.pdg. This can be found on the website from the Homepage under “Athletic Leagues” and then click on Sports Forms.
We also will and encourage walk in registration at Weber Leisure Center, 9300 Weber Park Place, Skokie, IL 60077. Please make sure that you complete the registration form attached along with payment. If you have currently registered within your District Schools, I will still need this form submitted to me here at Weber Center. All registration from this point going forward will actively go through the Skokie Park District.
We are still in the process of working with program directors and coaches and will begin to form a staff of coaches to lead these young men and teach them fundamentals and basics of football with the ability to form teams to be as competitive as possible in the league they will play in. Once those Directors and coaches are in place, I will make sure that their contact information is accessible to all parents/guardians and participants.
We are looking forward to this transition and are excited to get the season underway. Before anyone can practice or issue equipment, we must have participants registered in our system here at Skokie Park District as indicated, completed registration form and all necessary signatures from Parents/guardians/ and Doctor’s permission as well. More information will follow prior to first day of practice.
Thank you for your time and continued support of the Skokie Park District and if you have further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at 847-929-7183 or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
